At left is an image that was sent to us via a Missouri Tenth reader who noticed Rep. Stacey Newman’s public retweeting of a photo featuring her at the Missouri Capitol with a number of students claiming to support women’s reproductive rights. The image, which was originally tweeted by PPMO Advocates (Planned Parenthood Missouri), is unfortunate in it’s depiction of a leader who not only appears a bit too cozy with the Abortion Industry, but one who seems to be willing to divide their community over this difficult and painful subject (especially in regards to utilizing governmental power in order to force people to comply to the abortion ideology).
However, Martin Fox, President of the National Pro-Life Alliance recently brought up some excellent points in regards to Tad Cronn’s recent piece on the “War on Women” (which can be read here). Fox states that, “If it’s the body count that counts in the real “War on Women” as he states, then the abortion lobby is racking up quite a tally.”
Fox then points out some of the highlights from Cronn’s article. First, the trumped-up “War on Women” is not at all about pro-lifers wanting women to be held back or punished. It’s about the real life body count: 56 million defenseless babies exterminated since Roe v. Wade – and more than half of them are girls. Second, pro-abortion factions have reduced the whole of womanhood to their “lady parts.” In the 1960s, so called “community organizer” Saul Alinsky dictated “He who controls the language controls the masses.”
Fox states that, “The abortion industry has used this maxim to hijack women’s issues. It’s most obvious in the way our vocabulary has been manipulated. Cronn shines a spotlight on this strategic assault: The abortion lobby cannot acknowledge the personhood of unborn children because of the moral consequences. They change the vocabulary of the abortion discussion by using euphemisms such as ‘fetus’ to disguise what’s being killed; ‘health care’ to conceal that abortion is almost never necessary and is physically dangerous to the mother.”
Fox discusses how Cronn challenges the abortion lobby and their talking points – especially in regards to how Abortion “frees” women. “After an abortion a woman won’t have to worry about her time being taken up by pregnancy or having a child. She will have to worry about possible medical complications and long-lasting psychological scars.”
“It’s one thing to talk about “freedom to choose” but it’s another to live with your choices, and choosing abortion comes with a lifetime of guilt and loss,” Fox states.”The writer’s final line affirms the truth: ‘So who’s really waging a war on women? The answer is written in blood.’ Strong words that many need to hear.”
